Famous singer-songwriter, actor, host, and mentor to upcoming singers of Latin America – there is nothing Ricardo Montaner cannot do. Since his debut in 1976, Montaner has released several monumental hits, including “A Donde Va el Amor,” “Tan Enamorados,” “Me Va a Extranar,” and plenty more.
The Argentina-born artist has made such a huge impact in Venezuela that he was given naturalization by the Venezuelan government. Of course, his sensational hit, “La Pequeña Venecia,” a song professing his love for the country, also helped Montaner become a celebrated artist in the country. He has dropped 24 exemplary studio albums and has sold over 100 million copies worldwide. In 1992, Montaner’s Los Hijos del Sol album, spawned several hits. Five years later, his award-winning album Es Asi was released, peaking at number 12 on the U.S. Latin Pop charts. The album later earned gold in Argentina and platinum in the U.S.
Montaner’s subsequent efforts continued to earn platinum certifications. Meanwhile, he also released a gold-selling live album, Con La London Metropolitan Orchestra, Vol. 2, which was performed with a symphonic orchestra in London. In 2016, Montaner earned a Latin Grammy Lifetime Achievement award for his exemplary music and songwriting prowess. His contributions to Latin music have made a significant impact, and he will always be regarded as a gem by Latin American fans. Aside from the Latin Grammy, Montaner has also received the ASCAP Latin Heritage Award.
