Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit are going to be at the Wang Theatre on Saturday, February 28th. This is part of a two-night stop here in Boston. It's become the MO of these guys to have two nights at one venue. It's actually a sneaky good idea to head to the second show over the first one. The crew for Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit will have been able to fix the hiccups from the earlier performance to make this Saturday, the 28th, a flawless one. The PR team for Jason Isbell are doing an AB test for this tour! He's got the Foxes in the Snow album from 2025, which is still relatively new. "Bury Me" and "Good While it Lasted" are the two songs from that album that consistently do good numbers for him on streaming platforms. Yet for this 2026 tour, his "latest" release is actually a 10-year anniversary remastering of "Something More Than Free," which is his flagship album. It brings the old country vibes that you know and love from Jason Isbell.
Jason Isbell and The 400 Unit have been hitting the road together for a while. This might not be a new experience for you. To anyone who hasn't seen them perform live together, just know the inclusion of the band adds another layer to the performance. Jason Isbell, on his own, is more old town, sad country. The inclusion of the 400 Unit allows him to kick things up a notch when he needs to. Sorry for the unsolicited Hannah Montana reference, but you're getting the best of both worlds. When looking at the performance as a whole, you could say it's a more "complete" concert!
