American indie-folk band The Head and The Heart is heading out for a very special trek this year. Band members Jonathan Russell, Charity Rose Thielen, Matt Gervais, Chris Zasche, Kenny Hensley, and Tyler Williams are celebrating 15 years since the release of their self-titled debut LP. With 11 dates on the list, each night will be seeing the band perform the album in its entirety.
"It’s wild that we will be celebrating 15 years of our first record this spring – we are so lucky to have had the stars align meeting one another and creating art in those early days – we are looking forward to reflecting and celebrating the moments of coming together for the first time in real time with all of you!" Shared Charity Rose Thielen in an official release.
Sharing how it's gonna be a show unlike anything they've done before, fans are in for intimate nights of song, all dedicated to the record that made their amazing journey in music possible. Of course, these nights are also inspired by you, their fans who stood by their side as they took making folk music to heart.
The album features their iconic hits and fan favorites, "Down in the Valley", "Lost in My Mind", "Rivers and Roads", and more.
Across the 11-date U.S. trek, they'll be sharing the stage with the Brudi Brothers as the tour's special guest.
The band first released "The Head and The Heart" independently back in 2009, and re-released it after scoring a record deal. Their single, "Lost in My Mind" became a highly successful, and drove the album to take a spot on the Billboard 200. That point marked the start of their continuous passion for folk tunes straight from their hearts.
Releasing more records and charting up high on the Billboard 200, the band kept on growing, and the only way was up. Making Coachella debuts, headlining the Red Rocks, and hitting the stage for Lollapalooza, their journey over the past 15 years has been simply amazing.
Back during the era of the release of the "Every Shade of Blue" LP, Russell shared some bits of wisdom about the art they make,
"The more you can trust and feel the ability to be vulnerable as you’re making art, you make way bolder statements. You don’t guard yourself. Songwriting is its own form of therapy for all of us," he shared via American Songwriter.
As they head out for a trip down memory lane, join them in celebration of these songs that defined a whole era in indie folk. Don't miss out by booking your tickets now!
