A 29-date headline tour hitting America’s most storied venues from coast to coast. The tour kicks off with back-to-back nights at Seattle’s Paramount Theatre in late January before heading over to NY for another B2B weekend on February 27 and 28 at Boston's Wang Theater At The Boch Center. Billed as An Evening With Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, you won't be getting an opener but will instead get to revel in an uninterrupted 2½ hours of non-stop Isbell and his band!
Named after the psychiatric ward of Florence, Alabama’s Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital, the band is Jason Isbell (guitar/vocals), Sadler Vaden (guitar), Jimbo Hart (bass), Derry deBorja (keys), Chad Gamble (drums), and Amanda Shires (fiddle/vocals).
Together they have six Grammys, four for Isbell alone and two shared with the 400 Unit. For “If We Were Vampires” and the album, The Nashville Sound, “Cast Iron Skillet” and the album, Weathervanes, and finally “24 Frames” and the album, Something More Than Free. Their biggest hit is the song “Cover Me Up,” which is an 8× platinum cover of Morgan Wallen.
Opening all the way back in 1925 as the Metropolitan Theatre, a 4,000-seat movie palace that cost $3 million, or $55 million equivalent today. In 1983 it was saved from demolition by Dr. An Wang’s $4 million gift, and in 1990 it was designated a Boston Landmark.
The theater seats exactly 3,500 guests, with 1,500 balcony seats that hang 65 feet above the orchestra! The stage is one of the five largest in the U.S., and the 3 ton grand chandelier holds 350 bulbs. The Tremont Street cornerstone contained a time capsule that was sealed in 1925 and opened on October 19, 2025. The turnout was the largest single day crowd in the theater's history and also had a livestream with 41k concurrent viewers.
